Smashing Pumpkins, Incubus & Slash Sidewaves
In rather large news, Smashing Pumpkins, Incubus & Slash all announced Soundwave Sidewaves this week!
Incubus will be sharing the stage with Antemasque & Le Butcherettes while Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy And The Conspirators will be joined by the mighty Steel Panther!
THE SMASHING PUMPKINS have created one of the most acclaimed bodies of work in musical history having sold more than 30 million albums, and won multiple Grammy Awards in the process. The release of the critically acclaimed Siamese Dream in 1993 saw the band break into the mainstream but it was the release in 1995 of the hugely ambitious double album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness that launched THE SMASHING PUMPKINS into the stratosphere! Debuting at #1 on the Billboard album charts, it went on to make them one of the most critically acclaimed bands of the 90’s. Having recently released the first of 2 new albums (Monuments to an Elegy), fans can anticipate the release of the second album (Day For Night) also in 2015.
With a catalogue of massive hits including ‘1979’, ‘Tonight Tonight’, ‘Perfect’, ‘Bullet With Butterfly Wings’, ‘Farewell & Goodnight’, ‘Today’ and ‘That’s The Way (My Love Is)’, these two Sidewaves are guaranteed to remind old and new fans exactly why they fell in love with this seminal band to start with.
Returning to Australia in February for Soundwave Festival with mainstay Jeff Schroeder on guitars, the live show will also feature none other than Brad Wilk from Rage Against the Machine on drums and Mark Stoermer from The Killers on bass.
“They faithfully executed the Pumpkins sound, new and old.” – NY Times

Iconic rock gods, INCUBUS are unparalleled in their ability to shift moods and textures at the drop of a dime, proving that they have become a rare thing: a modern rock band that actually grows and improves with each album. Through their double decade-long rise to the top, INCUBUS have notched up over 13 million album sales and have amassed an arsenal of sing-a-long hits including Drive, Nice To Know You, Wish You Were Here, Are You In?, Pardon Me, Megalomaniac, A Certain Shade Of Green… come on, you know you’re guilty of belting out any one of these tunes on a drunken Karaoke night!.
The musical genius of Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and Cedric Bixler- Zavala formerly of At The Drive In and The Mars Volta, needs no introduction! During the 90’s, as members of At The Drive In, the pair raised the bar on the post hardcore genre with the release of their third (and final) album Relationship of Command to critical acclaim; an album now regarded as one of the most influential rock albums of the 90’s. In 2001 they teamed up again and the Prog- rock experimentation of The Mars Volta was unleashed! The band went on to release 6 studio albums with the single Wax Simulacra earning the band a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance. Fast forward to 2014 and the creative collaboration appears in its newest incarnation, ANTEMASQUE. With the release of their debut self-titled album mid 2014, ANTEMASQUE again proved themselves as the masters of musical diversity. The band spent the latter half of the year touring the US and Europe, bringing their unmistakable live intensity and a vibe that’s virtually unmatchable!
“….the performance thrived with punk energy like a bull in a china shop playing 70s prog.” – consequenceofsound
“Like true rock stars, ANTEMASQUE left the stage with fans wanting more.”- examiner.com
Mexican garage-punk trio LE BUTCHERETTES are like the brilliant offspring of surrealist Luis Bunuel and intrepid rock icon PJ Harvey with the band’s songs and wildly cathartic live shows often drawing comparisons to Karen-O, Patti Smith and Bikini Kill. Renowned for their electrifying and anything goes live performances; they have toured the US with The Flaming Lips, Omar Rodriguez Lopez and Jane’s Addiction and performed at countless festivals including Lollapalooza, Coachella, Fun Fun Fun Fest and many more.
“Le Butcherettes are never to be missed and are heretofore not to be ignored. Utterly stunning.” – sfweekly

A rock god that needs no introduction, but we’ll well and truly give him one anyway.
SLASH has been churning out some of the most iconic guitar riffs and solos in modern rock for more than three decades. A member of the Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall Of Fame for his role in the classic line-up of Guns N’ Roses and the spine-tingling opening riff he penned for the band’s trademark hit Sweet Child O’ Mine topped the list of ‘The 100 Greatest Riffs’ as voted by readers of UK’s Total Guitar magazine.
In September last year, SLASH released World On Fire, his third solo album and second record with vocalist MYLES KENNEDY (Alter Bridge) and backing band THE CONSPIRATORS. Fans and critics alike were equal in their praise for the new album with Metal Hammer declaring: “there is a lot to love on this record and so many riffs that you won’t be able to get out of your head.”
Not many artists can claim to have been joined on stage by members of Slipknot, Rage Against The Machine, Green Day, Kiss, Aerosmith and Linkin Park…STEEL PANTHER can. Wherever they roam their legion of ‘Fanthers’ rise up like a tidal wave with them…embracing 80’s metal with a fever…it’s no wonder The Guardian proclaimed: “Steel Panther’s ability to re-create the ludicrousness of 1980’s metal is unmatched.”
THIS…IS…MASSIVE…. SLASH featuring MYLES KENNEDY + THE CONSPIRATORS and STEEL PANTHER this February – in their only performances aside from their sets at Soundwave 2015.
