The Bluesfest Sideshow Season Begins

The Bluesfest Touring season is about to begin with the first of the touring artists arriving in the country early this week.

Powerhouse singer-songwriter Beth Hart is one of the first artists to arrive in Australia from the US for her debut appearance on our shores. Beth Hart will be warmly welcomed at her sold out show at the Basement on Saturday 12th April and her second show at The Basement on Sunday 13th April is selling fast. Tickets to her show in Melbourne at the Corner on Tuesday 15th April are also selling very strongly. Special guests for Beth’s shows have now been added including Alice Terry who is sure to wow the crowd with her incredible voice and Bluesfest favourites Genevieve Chadwick, as well as Shaun Kirk also performing as Beth’s special guests (see details below). US Soul sensation Allen Stone is almost here and ready to captivate audiences once again. The 26 year old is set to hypnotize the crowd with his heartfelt lyrics and social morals and this time around he will also be bringing a bunch of new material with him. You can first see Allen Stone at The Corner in Melbourne on Saturday 12th April before he heads to Sydney to play the Metro Theatre on Sunday 13th April (see all tour dates below). Classic Rock lovers are going to be counting down the days until Captain Beefheart’s Magic Band and The Grandmothers of Invention featuring original band members from the Mothers of Invention, arrive for their first Australian tour. They begin their Bluesfest sideshows at The Corner in Melbourne on Friday 11th April, followed by another night of nostalgia in Sydney at the Metro on Saturday 12th April.

Suzanne Vega, leading figure of the folk-music revival of the early 1980s will be bringing her unforgettable songs such as Luka, Marlene On The Wall, Tom’s Diner, Caramel (from the movie: ‘Cats and Dogs’), Solitude Standing, Woman On The Tier (from the movie: ‘Dead Man Walking’) as well as material from her latest album to Perth and Cairns this week, before she performs in Brisbane, followed by Bluesfest and then in Sydney and Melbourne (see all tour dates including special guest announcements for Perth and Cairns below).

Britain’s Trip Hop Trio Morcheeba will be touching down in New Zealand for two shows this week before they travel to our shores for their string of Australian dates including a sold out show at the Corner in Melbourne on Wednesday 16th April and a Sydney show at the Metro Theatre on Thursday 17th April that is selling fast. Jurassic 5 MC Chali 2na will be appearing as a special guest for both of these dates (see all the tour details below).
