Kim Churchill signs to Warner and announces Album release details New Video + National tour support.

WARNER MUSIC AUSTRALIA are pleased to announce the signing of Australian Singer Songwriter and Guitarist Kim Churchill, and the forthcoming release of his brand new album “Silence/Win” on Friday May 23rd.

The debut offering at his new home, Kim’s highly anticipated forthcoming third studio album “Silence/Win” showcases his melodic, contemporary, blues and folk sides. Recorded in Vancouver, the 11-track album produced by legendary heavyweight Warne Livesey (Midnight Oil, Matthew Good) is Kim’s first release through a major label in Australia.

To coincide with the album release news, Kim Churchill is pleased to reveal a new video for “Window to The Sky“, the first single to be lifted from the album. The track heralds a slight shift in direction for Kim and captures a new sense of freedom that delivers one of his most accessible songs to date. Conceptualized and directed by Jason Rodi, “Window To The Sky” was shot in Grand Canyon National Park in Nevada and Montreal, with the help of dancers David Albert-Toth and Milan Gervais.

We’d shot most of the film when I first saw Peter Curzon’s artwork on Kim’s album and was astonished to see we’d captured a near identical aesthetic to accompany the music. This was a testament to the strong suggestive power and inspiration that springs from Kim’s songs. I am particularly proud to have contributed to his powerful universe.

In support of the album release Kim Churchill hits the road this coming May/June for a National 16 date Australian tour, and will be taking fellow singer songwriter Steve Smyth along for the ride. With both artist sharing a similar philosophy and love of a nomadic lifestyle, and a strong passion for rhythm and blues, these 2 artists are a match made in heaven. With a reputation as a devastating live act, make sure you catch Steve Smyth opening the shows, and performing his brand new single “Shake It” along with material from his forthcoming new album.

The run of dates will take in all capital cities and regional areas including Newcastle, Byron Bay, Gold Coast, Wagga Wagga and more.
