Kate Miller-heidke And Calling All Cars Join The Great Escape

Cooking Vinyl Australia is thrilled to announce Kate Miller-Heidke and Calling All Cars will be joining the line-up on this years’s The Great Escape Festival in the UK.

The Great Escape is a new music festival and conference showcasing emerging artists from all over the world. The festival has previously played part in launching successful international acts such as The Gossip, The XX and The Kooks. This year’s line-up includes Asgeir (Iceland) Circa Waves (UK) Glass Animals (UK) and Royal Blood (UK).

Kate Miller-Heidke‘s new album “O Vertigo!” was released on March 14, reaching #4 on the ARIA charts. ‘O Vertigo!’ is Kate’s first independent release and was successfully launched by a record-breaking crowd funding campaign on Pledge Music. Kate smashed all records for Australian artists by reaching target in just three days. ‘O Vertigo!’ includes guest appearances from U.K’s Passenger, and Australian artists including Megan Washington and Drapht.

Rolling Stone Australia dubbed the album as “Kate Miller-Heidke’s career-best…an album of smart, challenging and mature pop music.”

Calling All Cars released “Raise The People” on March 7, debuting at #26 the ARIA charts. Signed to Cooking Vinyl Australia on a worldwide deal, Calling All Cars are now set to take on the world armed with an album that Sydney Morning Herald described as “Controlled intensity, crunching riffs and thunderous drums…The album feels like a band growing up fast and confident that it’s time to take to the international stage.” The band’s much publicised relocation to the UK was enabled via a successful crowd funding campaign on Pledge Music.

Raise The People” was produced by Steve Schram (Clairy Browne & the Bangin’ Rackettes, The Vasco Era) and Tom Larkin (Shihad, Bodyjar, The Getaway Plan) and mixed by Grammy Award winner Tchad Blake (The Black Keys, Pearl Jam, Tom Waits).
