The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus @ The Manning Bar, 6th May ’17
The Manning Bar has been a great venue to see some of the best acts to grace Sydney’s shores since it re-opened in 2000, capable of seating close to 1,000 people, it never fails to show great talent.
When I got to The Manning Bar the place was half empty, waiting to be filled with a sea of fans for a sold out show of The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus!
After a long awaited return, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus played in Sydney Australia this weekend. As part of their 10 year anniversary tour they played their full album “Don’t You Fake It”, which includes songs you would have known and loved such as ‘Guardian Angel‘ and ‘Face Down’.
When Ronnie Winter walked out on stage he was holding his red cap in the air, and then he put on the cap and stared at the crowd, seeming to absorb their energy as they started cheering, and waiting for him to start singing. The anticipation was electric!
As I stared out into the crowd I saw a sea of faces that loved every single song that front man Ronnie Winter sang. It was an awesome experience full of nostalgia and yet contemporary in appeal.
Ronnie dedicated a song to a friend called Steve, the song was my favourite ‘Guardian Angel’, I was so jealous. Josh Burke pulled off an amazing show, with mad guitar riffs, and engaged the audience with every strum.
The feeling in the atmosphere was one closer to the largest rock bands out of Europe or America, I haven’t felt this way since I heard Alter Bridge this year.
The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus currently aren’t signed by a label and they love every minute of it as they have the freedom to write their music, in their own style. No trade-offs, no remorse! Just their pure vision and style.
It was an electrifying show with an amazing stage performance by the whole band.
