L.A.B + Kings New Single ‘Real Ones’ Sydney Show SOLD OUT
L.A.B arrive with their new single ‘Real Ones’ featuring Aotearoa based artist Kings which is taken from their recently released #1 album L.A.B V.
Alongside the release, one of Aotearoa’s largest names in electronic music, QUIX, has presented an energetic trap remix of the original track.
Featuring vocals from rapper Kings, ‘Real Ones’ is a standout hip-hop track from the album and arrives shortly after its massive live debut across L.A.B’s sold-out summer tour. ‘Real Ones’ is taken from the album L.A.B V, the band’s fifth album in five years which topped the charts upon release in NZ and has already been certified Gold.
The album is set for release on vinyl worldwide on April 8, just as the band finally return to Australia & international interest begins to build. The Australian tour will see the band perform at the iconic Byron Bay Bluesfest, and play multiple sold out shows across the country, with their recently announced Sydney show, now SOLD OUT!
Globally, more countries are beginning to take notice of L.A.B. The past months have seen radio airplay across stations such as BBC Radio1Extra & 6 Music, Jazz FM & Reggae.fr (France’s largest reggae radio station), plus glowing reviews in Vive Le Rock! & Blues & Soul Magazine. ‘Real Ones’ is set to show off a different side of the L.A.B sound as the world starts to listen.
While the track seems to be a far cry from L.A.B’s usual work, ‘Real Ones’ shows the band’s willingness to push boundaries and expand their eclectic sound.
New Zealand producer/DJ QUIX brings his unique sound to his bass-heavy rework of the track. Having worked alongside the likes of Steve Aoki & Alison Wonderland, the remix proves to be prepped and primed for the mainstage at any large-scale festival he’s known to grace the stages of.
2021 saw L.A.B again go from strength to strength, continuing to cement themselves as one of NZ’s hardest-working bands. Their fifth album was released just as the band swept the Aotearoa Music Awards, winning Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Group & Best Roots Artist. These accolades saw the band become the first act since Lorde to win both Single & Album of the Year in the same year, and the first independent act since Scribe to win Single of the Year. The band were lucky enough to perform three massive headline shows in NZ across summer, before turning their attention to finally returning to Australia in April.
