Miriam Lieberman New Single “Bridge In Time”

A hypnotic meeting point of lush contemporary folk and magnetic dynamics, Sydney-based singer-songwriter Miriam Lieberman returns today with a stunning single Bridge In Time, commencing a new creative chapter that will ultimately culminate in the release of her upcoming full-length album, also titled Bridge In Time, which is set for release in February 2027.

Blending plucked kora, a sensual hand-drum groove, shimmering strings and soaring three-part harmonies, Bridge In Time effortlessly swells from delicate textures into an expansive, uplifting chorus, buoyed by Miriam’s crystalline vocals that detail the powerful ability of love to thread through time, as Miriam elaborates, “The song is about love as something that travels through time – something we receive from those who came before us, carry within us, and pass on.”

“I became fascinated by the extraordinary chance of our lives intersecting at all,” she adds. “We exist among billions of people, across this enormous universe and this vast stretch of time, and yet somehow we find ourselves here, at this particular moment, alongside the people we love. There’s something miraculous about that to me.”

“It’s also about recognising that what we’ve been given doesn’t disappear. The love, wisdom and connection we inherit become part of who we are and what we carry forward. That’s really the heart of the refrain: Love is a bridge in time / we carry it on.”

Written by Miriam herself, Bridge In Time saw her team up with long-time collaborators Lara Goodridge and Susie Bishop, both playing violin and contributing to the standout interlaced harmonies, along with Miriam performing lead vocals and kora. And also returning to work with another long-time collaborator to bring Bridge In Time to life, Miriam’s latest track was produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by Josh Schuberth (Josh Pyke, The Whitlams, Dustin Tebbutt, Fanny Lumsden, Troy Cassar-Daley), with Josh taking on the remaining instrumentation, and his hand-drum groove ultimately becoming a defining part of the end result of Bridge In Time.

A gifted storyteller and sonic alchemist, Miriam Lieberman’s artistry pairs her distinctive, emotive voice with poetic songwriting and a signature brand of contemporary folk. Threading her work with intimate observations that span love, connection, nature and our place in the world, Miriam’s sound is ultimately rooted in modern folk and singer-songwriter traditions, with the kora, a traditional stringed instrument from Western Africa, as the dazzling centrepiece to her songwriting after spending significant periods living and studying music in West Africa.

Whether performing solo or with her ongoing collaborators Lara Goodridge and Susie Bishop as the Miriam Lieberman trio, Miriam’s work enamours endlessly. A regular on the Australian festival circuit, with praise from The Guardian, Rolling Stone Australia and the Sydney Morning Herald also in her wake, Miriam has built a dedicated following both via her stunning releases as well as extensive touring at home and abroad. Recently returning from a tour of Japan, Miriam is now looking ahead towards the release of a brand new album, sharing its namesake with today’s new single, and set for release in February 2027.

Fans can catch Miriam’s latest singleBridge In Time, along with a horde of other favourites, over the coming months, with performances locked in for Sydney, the Blue Mountains, Yass and Canberra to close out 2026, as well as further dates to be announced to coincide with her new album release next year.
