ON APRIL 12, 1966 BOB DYLAN ARRIVED AT SYDNEY AIRPORT

In April 1966, Bob Dylan made the trek Down Under for his first Australian appearances, flying in from Hawaii on a classic Pan-Am and arriving early morning on April 12.

Dylan was accompanied by his band, The Hawks, and their first stop in Australia was a press conference organised in a private room at Sydney airport.

Fans flocked to see the influential American folk musician arrive in Australia ahead of his show at Sydney Stadium on April 13 and 16 where he would perform She Belongs To MeDesolation RowMr. Tambourine Man and It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue and more.
