Kingswood Release Short Film For Micro Wars
Melbourne’s favourite indie-rockers Kingswood have enlisted an all-star cast from the Australian music industry to join them in creating a cinematic short film featuring latest single from Kingswood – ‘Micro Wars‘ and album track ‘Eye Of The Storm‘.
Ian Moss, Freddy Crabs (Sticky Fingers), Sam Margin, Zac Margin, Scott Baldwin and Will Zeglis (The Rubens), Thomas Champion (The Preatures), Jake Stone (Bluejuice), Tkay Maidza and Australian actress Liana Cornell all play a role alongside the members of Kingswood in this tale of love, loss and revenge.
The film directed by guitarist Alex Laska (Kingswood) and Jason Von Drayco captures the bands signature cinematic style seen in the earlier video for simmering slow burner ‘I Can Feel That You Don’t Love Me’.
The story of ‘Micro Wars’ is set in the dark underbelly of the Sydney underworld as the band of brothers tear up the Sydney streets riding with the wind upon thundering motorcycles. Capulet meets Montague; our Romeo (Fergus Linacre) meets Juliet (Liana Cornell). A dramatic tale of forbidden love and tragedy ensue ending in a heroic, blood-spattered gun slinging show down between our musically talented all-star cast set to the backdrop of a derelict abandoned asylum.
“It’s sort of the second installment of our endeavours in making grind house styled cinema but with much more of an Australian twist, Animal Kingdom was a big influence…” Alex Laska.
Kingswood’s debut album ‘Microscopic Wars’ has been nominated for ARIA ‘Best Rock Album’ 2014
