Helmet Announce Naarm Betty Fest
Legendary NYC sound assassins HELMET announce a one-off festival event in Melbourne on Sunday 26th of April at The Northcote Theatre celebrating the band’s seminal Betty album, live in full for the last ever time.
Joining the party is a genre bending local line-up acknowledging the NYC band’s diverse and widespread influence across music today.
Helmet welcome visceral lo fi Melbourne punks Civic, Wollongong post hardcore duo Chimers, the dangerous punk rock of Lothario, cerebral heavy Castlemaine duo DEAD and new Naarm rising lights Snake Thighs, for an unforgettable afternoon at The Northcote Theatre.
When Helmet released the Betty album in 1994 it announced the new age of heavy alternative music. It’s hard hitting combination of mathematic riffs and pure punk power opened others to possibilities of cross pollination and genre exploration.
Retiring the whole album play through concept for Betty, this will be the last time Helmet ever perform this incredible album live in full!
Doors open at 2pm
