Trapt @ The Bald Faced Stag, 7th July ’17

Trapt have commenced their first ever Australian tour, on Friday night we caught up to them at The Bald Faced Stag.

The Bald Faced Stag is an intimate venue that comfortably fits 500 people at its main stage. Trapt formed in 1995 and packed a punch! They played last Friday night to a packed crowd, with a show that included a lot of surprises for their loving fans.

Their music is a combination of hard rock and alternative metal resulting in an enlightening and refreshing musical experience that defines their longevity. When the lead singer, Chris Taylor brown came on stage the crowd went wild, as they sang along to their many popular tunes.  Their most popular song was Headstrong, which is a song that they released in 2002, the energy in the room was palpable when the first notes of the song rang out through the crowd, you could tell the fans knew every line. Amongst their newer releases they performed songs from their DNA album, which was released in 2016, and others from throughout their 7 studio albums history.

When Trapt walked off the stage the audience were incensed, they started cheering for a encore, as they rose to a crescendo Chris came back to the stage, and led his band as they played the song Stories on acoustic guitar, the rest of the band only joined in for the final song Stand Up.

As their final notes echoed over the crowd, Trapt told the audience to stick around and they would come down and speak to their fans and get photos with them. A few moments later they were wending their way through their adoring followers, rewarding them with candid conversations, personal photographs, and in the most Australian way sharing a drink with those who celebrate their work the most.

Trapt are still touring, and if you have ever danced to Headstrong, or yelled along with their lyrics I suggest that you catch them while they’re travelling through Europe. Seeing them live is a rare treat, they have a great appreciation for their fans, so make sure to bring a camera, or other merchandise!
