Violent Soho Sell Out All 14 Oz Dates!

Violent Soho has seemingly become an unstoppable steam train this year as their third studio LP Hungry Ghost (released through I Oh You and debuting at ARIA #6 in September 2013) continues to win the hearts of many around Australia.

The band are thrilled to announce their acclaimed full length Hungry Ghost will see an official release in the USA and Mexico through the iconic LA punk label Side One Dummy (Gaslight Anthem, MxPx, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones) on 30 September. No strangers to the land of the free, Violent Soho have already toured the US with acts like Built To Spill, Alice in Chains, Dinosaur Jr and The Bronx, plus also had success in the alternative Billboard charts when Thurston Moore (of Sonic Youth) released their self-titled LP that featured the single ‘Jesus Stole My Girlfriend’. This new partnership marks the start of an exciting adventure as the much-loved Hungry Ghost record now receives it official North American release.

Having spent the majority of this year on a high (pun intended) as they’ve toured the country playing to packed festival crowds at Falls, Southbound, Big Day Out, Groovin The Moo and triple j’s ‘One Night Stand’ – the four friends from Mansfield (4122 represent) that make up Violent Soho have refused to slow down, as their LP has continued to hold its place in the ARIA top 40 over 8 months after its release.

Announcing a five-date headline tour for July earlier in the year, Violent Soho’s momentum has shocked many (including the band) as the initial shows sold out in just minutes, forcing the band to add more to meet with demand. The tour now sits at a total of 14 sold out shows that will see Soho play to over 12,000 fans next month. They will of course also be headlining Circo Festival in Perth this weekend, and then smashing up Byron Bay’s Splendour in the Grass festival.
