Ian Bell is a rock’n'roll renaissance guy. Photographer, writer, indie club DJ, music and pop culture collector, commentator and expert (he won live versions of both Rockwiz and Spicks and Specks within months of each other). He is an asset on any quiz night team.
His career as a photographer started in the late 1970′s sneaking whatever camera he could get his hands on into shows as a teenager. Moving into the more ‘legitimate’ world of the photographer pit, passes, meet and greets, album cover shoots shooting gigs and festivals all over the world from his home base of Adelaide. His work has appeared in the NME, Rip It Up, dB, The Advertiser, Long Gone Loser and countless other publications.
He has shot everybody from Chuck Berry to Nirvana, Iggy Pop to One Direction, The Sex Pistols to Barry Manilow. The quest to capture the artist, the event and the moment is what keeps him going.
