Def FX Reunite For Australia Tour
Australia’s ultimate 90s electronic surf rock band have reunited for a June 2019 East Coast Australia tour.
Fronted by the enigmatic, crowd pleasing and seemingly ageless, Oz rock queen, Fiona Horne and legendary keyboard/vocalist, Ant Banister, Def FX are returning to Australia in June 2019 for select shows and to make sure everyone gets to party like it’s 1996, or as Fiona says, ‘Fuck that! Let’s party like it’s NOW.’
Joining Def FX on tour are Very Special Guests, the blistering Nunchukka Superfly, (who rose from the ashes of Punk Metal Kings, The Hard On’s), Matt Doll (Pop King and founding member of The Mavis’s), Newcastle Punk Priestesses, Bitchcraft and Sydney’s epic Industrial Dance band, Snvff.
With all members of all the bands, sharing long friendships spanning back to the early 90’s, this tour promises to ‘go off and feel like family,’ say’s Horne.
‘We’re just dying to get on the road to rock out and dance hard with all our friends, onstage and off! The Def Family are the most loyal and awesome fans any band could dream of having – it’s a privilege and fucking fun to get back up on stage for them.”

ABOUT THE BANDS
DEF FX
Aria nominated, Number One charting 90’s band, Def FX, are the voice of a generation of Oz rockers who emerged in the 90’s with a totally unique sound: heavy guitars, dance beats and flagrant sampling (before there were laws against it) – a sound that ultimately became Electronica.
But Def FX defied labels, releasing four albums, multiple EP’s and singles and leaving critics scrambling to describe their rock, surf, dance, industrial, punk sound. The bottom line was that audiences couldn’t get enough of their slamming, crazy high-energy shows, with front woman, Fiona Horne, establishing herself as one of Australia’s most powerful female performers. Def FX’s seven year career saw them headline tours crisscrossing Australia, USA and Japan non-stop – and sharing the stage with bands like The Smashing Pumpkins and No Doubt. Def FX also played the main stage every Big Day Out from 1991-1996.
Reuniting in 2012 and again in 2013 for sold out local tours, which saw loyal frenetic fans bringing their teenage kids along into the mosh pit, proved that Def FX forged the best sound of the 90’s… and beyond.

NUNCHUKKA SUPERFLY
Rising from the ashes from then newly defunct punk-metal-pop titans, The Hard-ons, Nunchukka Superfly provided a supreme example of career left-turn, as Blackie and Ray from the aforementioned Hard-ons set about shaping a shape-shifting force of a band.
Armed to the teeth with brilliantly muscular rhythm and neck-snapping dynamics, Nunchukka Superfly are psychedelic storm-troopers of your nightmares. Prepare thyself to be at once caressed, pummelled and entranced by Nunchukka Superfly.

MATT DOLL (THE MAVIS’S)
Matt Doll has been a fixture in the Australian music scene for over 20 years as the lead singer/songwriter and creative force in bands The Mavis’s, The Blow Waves and Video Video…
His unique songs are stories told through bizarrely beautiful melodies, visceral and heart wrenching.
Matt’s work on The Mavis’s pop masterpiece ‘Pink Pills’ had the band nominated for 4 ARIA awards, a tour with fellow Mushroom Music sister Kylie and songwriting session with his idols, The Go Go’s, The B-52’s and The Roches.
Matt is back in his latest incarnation as a lone rider with his debut solo EP “Night Flight”. A cinematic story on which he sings about love, loss and romance with a new sound that marries acoustic and electronic elements guided by his distinct voice which dives and soars.
With his new solo band, Matt is excited to revisit The Mavis’s back catalogue of sparkling 90’s classics!

BITCHCRAFT
In Newcastle, in 2001 Bitchcraft emerged with a desperate need to rage and tell their stories of revenge, dodgy predatory dudes, painful relationships, & too many times having bad taste in men.
Bitchcraft began to collect a fan base, playing at pubs like the Hunter on Hunter, The Lucky, The Wicko and The Lass.
With a “fuck you” party attitude, Bitchcraft aren’t afraid to tear up the stage and possibly tear you a new one.
Between 2001 and 2012, Bitchcraft recorded two ep’s, and toured the East Coast, leaving chaos in their wake, before a five year hiatus to try on being earth mothers….it didn’t work. The time came for Newcastle’s officially crowned Ladies of Loud to return.
They are currently grinding a trail through Newcastle and beyond…attracting some big shows with Rose Tattoo, Hard Ons, DefFX, Screamfeeder and Smudge.

SNVFF
SNVFF’s combination of industrial dance, trip hop and noise have branded them the lovechild of Nine Inch Nails and Massive Attack. The band combines the huge beats and dark sounds of Joey Alucvrd with Alicia May’s twisted mind and volatile vocals.
SNVFF released a self-titled debut EP in 2014 with independent record label Blind Mice Productions and independently released a second EP ‘INTRAVENUS’ which placed #24 in Brutal Resonance’s ‘Top 25 albums of 2016.’
In 2017 SNVFF embarked on the ‘INTRAVENUS’ tour, playing 6 dates across Australia and sharing the stage with Shiv-R, Amelia Arsenic and Aurelio Voltaire.
2019’s already been a busy year for SNVFF, working hard to put the finishing touches on their first full length album and performing at PROGFEST in Sydney alongside international progressive metal heavyweights: The Ocean (Germany), Monuments (UK), Skyharbour (USA), & City of Souls (NZ).
SNVFF’s new album is shaping up to be their heaviest, boldest and most diverse release yet. The gloves are off and SNVFF certainly aren’t pulling any punches.
