Ex Cops – New Video For “Black Soap”

Ex Cops, a nomadic duo featuring Amalie Bruun and Brian Harding, brings the hook-heavy blast of ‘90s alt-rock into a new era on their second album “Daggers”.

Executive produced by icon-of-form Billy Corgan and produced by Justin Raisen (Sky Ferriera, Charli XCX, Kylie Minogue), the record rescues guitar-pop from the bedroom, returning it to the stage it deserves.

The first taste of “Daggers” is street track ‘Black Soap’. VOGUE US profiled the “impossibly cool duo” and premiered the track noting that it “lives up to its creators’ momentum: like a shot of power-pop angst from the nineties, ‘Black Soap’ is a whirl of twang and haze and its lyrics are as catchy as its pattering drum beat.”

Now the duo bring the shoegaze textures of ‘Black Soap’ to life with a video that, as premiere partner Stereogum put it, “looks as much like a fashion shoot as a music video”. Shot on 16mm film, it’s a refreshing return to the now archaic format.
